Chinese Ambassador Chen Xiaodong Paid Farewell Visits to Senior Members of ANC and SACP

Chinese Ambassador Chen Xiaodong has recently paid farewell visits to Secretary General Mbalula of the ANC, the ruling party of South Africa, and General Secretary Mapaila of the SACP, a member of the ruling coalition, among other senior members of the two parties, attending farewell events organized by both parties.

Reflecting on the advancements in China-South African relations and inter-party exchanges during his tenure, Ambassador Chen expressed sincere gratitude to the ANC and SACP for their steadfast support on critical issues concerning China's core interests. He highlighted the strengthened bonds of “camaraderie plus brotherhood” between the Communist Party of China (CPC), ANC and SACP, nurtured under the strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Ramaphosa. This deepened connection has been a driving force in enhancing the dynamic bilateral relations, contributing to the flourishing “Golden Era” of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Ambassador Chen expressed China's willingness to continue this journey, intensifying governance exchanges, broadening areas of cooperation, and elevating the inter-party relationship to foster even greater growth in bilateral ties.

Secretary General Mbalula and General Secretary Mapaila reciprocated with high praise for Ambassador Chen's instrumental role in deepening the inter-party cooperation and overall relations between China and South Africa.
