On March 11, Ambassador Chen Xiaodong and his wife Madam Zhang Bin left their post and returned to China. 

Ms. Yoliswa Mvebe, the representative of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa and Acting Chief Director of Directorate: East Asia and Oceania, bid farewell to Ambassador Chen Xiaodong and Madam Zhang Bin at the airport. Diplomats of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, delegates of Chinese-invested organizations and representatives of the Chinese community in South Africa went to the airport to see them off.

Ambassador Chen Xiaodong arrived in South Africa to assume his post in September 2020.
