Ambassador Wu Peng Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony of CGN TFC Greenfield Photovoltaic Project
On 14 November, Ambassador Wu Peng was invited to attend and address the groundbreaking ceremony of the CGN TFC Greenfield Photovoltaic Project. Nearly 100 people attended the event, including Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba, representatives from the CGN Energy International Holdings Co., Limited, South Africa Office of China-Africa Development Fund, Sinosteel South Africa and other Chinese-invested enterprises in South Africa, officials from the Limpopo provincial government and Steelpoort government, as well as the media.
Ambassador Wu extended his congratulations to the Project, and thanked the Limpopo government for its support for Chinese enterprises to make investment. He stressed Samancor’s focus on local smelting. The company contributed an added value of 2.4 million tonnes of ferrochrome production capacity, to support South Africa's industrialisation. Ambassador Wu urged Chinese enterprises in South Africa to fulfil their social responsibilities and make greater contributions to local economic and social development.
The participants congratulated the Chinese new energy companies on entering the South African market. They hoped that more such companies will invest here to help upgrade South Africa's new energy industry.
