On 12 June, 2025, Ambassador Wu Peng visited Allanridge Secondary School in Midrand, Gauteng Province for an exchange event, celebrating South Africa’s Youth Month with local students.

Accompanied by Principal Robert Netshivhangani and Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature Michael Yao-Heng Sun, Ambassador Wu visited the campus, learnt about the school, and exchanged views with the school leaders as well as teacher and student representatives. He noted that under the leadership of the two heads of state, people-to-people exchanges between China and South Africa have continued to prosper, playing an important role in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Ambassador Wu expressed his hope that South African young people will learn more about China and the Chinese culture, and work to disseminate the fine cultures of China and South Africa, pass on the enduring friendship, and build a China-South Africa and China-Africa community with a shared future.

Ambassador Wu presented the school with teaching equipment, cultural items and English books introducing China. He was warmly received by the teachers and students, with a friendly and engaging atmosphere throughout the visit.
