On November 23, South African Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Angie Motshekga visited the Chinese Embassy to bid farewell to the outgoing Defence Attaché, Major General Shang Hong.

Major General Shang noted that in the past five years during his term, he has witnessed the rapid development of China-South Africa military relations and fruitful results in bilateral cooperation. Under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, the relationship between the two militaries is at its best in history. The two sides should continue to work together to tackle common security challenges and deepen exchanges and cooperation.

Minister Motshekga spoke highly of the “comrades plus brothers” bond between the two militaries, noting that South Africa is willing to continue this special friendship.
