China-South Africa Climate Smart Agriculture Training Workshop was successfully held from 11 to 13 December. The Embassy’s Minister Counsellor Shen Long attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Minister Counsellor Shen Long pointed out that climate change poses grave challenges to agricultural production, and science and technology is the most powerful weapon to cope with climate change and guarantee agricultural production. China is willing to share with South Africa its achievements in agricultural science and technology, and help South African agriculture to cope with challenges brought by climate change.
The workshop was jointly organised by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Agricultural Research Council in South Africa. More than 10 experts from China and South Africa in the field of agricultural science and technology offered training to over 40 participants from South Africa.
