Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from New Foreign Ambassadors to China

On the afternoon of December 12, 2024, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by 28 ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Greeted by the guard of honor lining up on both sides outside the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People and trumpeters blowing the horns, the diplomatic envoys, arriving in succession, passed through the flag array, and walked up the white marble stairs.

In front of the giant painting "A Land So Richly in Beauty", Xi Jinping accepted the credentials respectively presented by the diplomatic envoys and took photos with them one by one.

They are: Ambassador of the Netherlands to China Andre Haspels, Ambassador of Morocco to China Abdelkader El Ansari, Ambassador of Cambodia to China Soeung Rathchavy, Ambassador of North Macedonia to China Sashko Nasev, Ambassador of Georgia to China Paata Kalandadze, Ambassador of Spain to China Marta Betanzos Roig, Ambassador of Argentina to China Marcelo Gabriel Suarez Salvia, Ambassador of Thailand to China Chatchai Viriyavejakul, Ambassador of Cyprus to China Lanitou, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China Majintha Joseph Priye Jayesinghe, Ambassador of the Maldives to China Fazeel Najeeb, Ambassador of Mali to China Elisee Jean DAO, Ambassador of Latvia to China Karlis Eihenbaums, Ambassador of Denmark to China Michael Starbæk Christensen, Ambassador of Ireland to China Nicholas O' Brien, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to China Abigail Shoniwa, Ambassador of Mongolia to China Nyamaa Enkhbold, Ambassador of Norway to China Vebjoern Dysvik, Ambassador of Nauru to China Chitra Jeremiah, Ambassador of Finland to China Mikko Kinnunen, Ambassador of Montenegro to China Branko M. After the credentials presentation ceremony, Xi Jinping delivered a speech to the diplomatic envoys at the Beijing Hall.

Xi Jinping welcomed the diplomatic envoys to their posts in China, asked them to convey his best wishes to the leaders and people of their respective countries, and said that the Chinese government will provide convenience and support for the diplomatic envoys to perform their duties.

Xi Jinping noted that China has a long history and a vast territory. He expressed the hope that the diplomatic envoys will visit various places in China, listen to the voices of the Chinese people, gain a comprehensive understanding of China's history, present and future, and objectively present China today, its development path and the direction of advancement. He called on the diplomatic envoys to play a positive role in building bridges for exchanges, advancing cooperation, and carrying forward friendship between China and the world.

Xi Jinping noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. After 75 years of arduous efforts, Chinese modernization has unfolded a magnificent picture and presented a brilliantly promising future. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee adopted a comprehensive plan for further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization, and put forward more than 300 important reform measures. Chinese modernization is not for China alone. China is ready to share its development opportunities with other countries, prosper collectively, help each other succeed, and work together to achieve the modernization of all countries that features peace, development, mutually beneficial cooperation and common prosperity.

Xi Jinping stressed that "As we face a time of major challenges and crises, such as rising geopolitical conflicts, unilateral actions and protectionism, as well as climate change, it is imperative that all countries take concerted action." Standing at a new historical crossroads, all countries should draw lessons from human history, strengthen solidarity and coordination, and build greater synergy for world peace and development. As a stable, positive and progressive force in the international community, China will stay on the path of peaceful development, and work with other countries to advocate an equal and orderly multipolar world and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, act on the common values of humanity and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
