I am glad to pay this official visit to South Africa at the invitation of Foreign Minister Zuma on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic 

relations between China and South Africa. I wish to take this opportunity to convey the warm greetings and best wishes of the Chinese people to the South African 

people. 

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties ten years ago, China-South Africa relations have registered rapid and comprehensive growth, marked by frequent high-

level visits, deepening political mutual trust, fruitful cooperation in the economic and trade, scientific and technological as well as cultural fields, and close consultation

 on international and regional affairs. China-South Africa strategic partnership of equality, mutual benefit and common development was forged in 2004. China is 

satisfied with the sound growth of China-South Africa relations.

This is my first visit to South Africa. I look forward to having in-depth exchanges of views with Foreign Minister Zuma and the South African leader on bilateral 

relations and international and regional issues of mutual interest. I also wish to mark the 10th anniversary of our diplomatic ties with the South African people, work 

with them to advance China-South Africa cooperation and strengthen the strategic partnership between our two countries.
