A trade fair co-sponsored by China's Shandong Province and South Africa's Western Cape Province was held successfully in Cape Town with a signing ceremony of $280 million contracts witnessed by Governor Han Yuqun of Shandong Provinvice and his delegation during their visit to South Africa from July 19 to 22, 2006.

Both Governor Han Yuqun and his counterpart in Western Cape Premier Lassol spoke highly of the friendly relations and cooperation between the two sister provinces at their meeting during the visit. The two provinces committed themselves to further strengthening the friendly relationship and pragmatic cooperation by signing a MOU and a framework agreement to enhance their exchanges and cooperation.

The delegation also visited Johannesburg and Pretoria.
