On 4 September 2025, the Chinese Embassy in South Africa hosted an Open Day. Ambassador Wu Peng attended and answered questions from the audience. Nearly 200 participants attended, including representatives of the Embassy's social media followers, members of the China-South Africa Youth Forum, students from Confucius Institute, young overseas Chinese, and online influencers.

Ambassador Wu answered questions from young representatives on China's governance experience, China-South Africa and China-Africa relations, cultural exchanges between China and South Africa, and youth communication. He encouraged more South African youth to study, travel, and work in China, urging them to actively engage in bilateral cooperation and contribute further to advancing China-South Africa relations and promoting friendship between the two peoples.

The event proceeded smoothly in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The guests watched a short video about the 3 September military parade, a photo exhibition themed ‘Remembering History, Cherishing Peace,’ and performances of traditional Chinese dance and martial arts. They also participated in a knowledge quiz on China-South Africa relations.
