Chinese Embassy in South Africa Holds Safety Symposium for Chinese Nationals and Enterprises

On November 6, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in South Africa held a safety symposium for Chinese nationals and Chinese-funded enterprises in South Africa. Ambassador Wu Peng attended and delivered remarks. The Embassy’s Minister Qin Zhanpeng, Minister Counsellor Liu Yu, Counsellor Liao Xiaoying, and Deputy Consul General Zhou Yujiang of the Consulate-General in Johannesburg were also present. More than 50 representatives from the local Chinese community and Chinese enterprises participated in the event.

Ambassador Wu emphasized that the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in South Africa are fully committed to protecting the safety of Chinese nationals, enterprises, and institutions in the country. He urged them to strengthen the awareness of taking primary responsibility for their own safety and to prevent risks before they arise. Ambassador Wu stressed that they must stick to lawful and compliant operations, particularly lawful employment, actively fulfill social responsibilities, and integrate into local communities for enduring and reliable safety guarantees.

Participants engaged in lively discussions and expressed their commitment to enhancing safety awareness and capacity to build a stronger foundation for safety.
