Ambassador Wu Peng Meets with South African Minister of Human Settlements Thembi Simelane
On the morning of January 14, Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Wu Peng met with South African Minister of Human Settlements Thembi Simelane in Pretoria. The meeting was also attended by Director General Dr Alec Moemi and Deputy Director General Ms Sindisiwe Ngxongo of South African Department of Human Settlements .
Ambassador Wu Peng spoke highly of China-South African relations and said that China and South Africa have huge potentials for cooperation in the field of housing and urban-rural development. China is willing to deepen exchanges, mutual learning and practical cooperation with South Africa in relevant fields for the benefit of the people of both countries.
Minister Simelane said that the South African government attaches great importance to human settlement development and looks forward to learning from China's experiences in housing and urban development, and strengthening exchanges on innovative building technologies, with a view to contributing to South Africa’s housing construction capacity and basic-housing level.
