Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in South Africa.
China and South Africa enjoy traditional friendship featuring “camaraderie plus brotherhood.” Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1998, our relationship has grown significantly, evolving from a partnership, to a strategic partnership, to a comprehensive strategic partnership. In more recent years, under the strategic guidance of our leaders, the political mutual trust between China and South Africa has deepened, practical cooperation has flourished, cultural exchanges have broadened, and our multilateral cooperation has become increasingly strong. This makes China-South Africa relations a model for China-Africa relations and South-South cooperation. In August 2023, President Xi Jinping's state visit to South Africa and participation in the 15th BRICS Summit propelled our relations into a "golden era," starting a new chapter of building a high-level China-South Africa community with a shared future.
As influential developing countries, China and South Africa's relationship has transcended bilateral boundaries and now has significant global impact. China is dedicated to working with South Africa to enhance dialogue, exchanges and cooperation across various fields, so as to harvest more "golden fruits" in this "golden era" and bring greater benefits to our countries and people.
The Chinese Embassy in South Africa is committed to providing valuable information and dedicated services. We sincerely hope this website becomes a window for friends from all sectors to learn about China and China-South Africa relations, a platform for promoting bilateral exchanges and cooperation, and a bridge for fostering understanding and friendship. We welcome your feedback and suggestions.
