China and South Africa Signed MOU on Poverty Alleviation Through Science and Technology
On August 4, 2023, Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Mr Wang Zhigang and South African Minister of Science and Innovation Dr Blade Nzimande held a bilateral meeting in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, reaching a number of consensuses on further strengthening the STI cooperation. The two ministers signed the MOU on Poverty Alleviation through Science and Technology.
According to the MOU, China and South Africa will strengthen poverty alleviation through S&T by carrying out a number of measures. These measures include joint R&D and technology transfer, building network of personnel, implementing cooperative projects and building demonstration parks, etc.
The MOU is the first of such kind signed by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology.
