On February 24, the Chinese Embassy in South Africa held an online symposium on lawful and compliant operations for Chinese-owned garment enterprises in Newcastle. Minister Zhou Maoyi of the Embassy and Consul General Li Zhigong in Durban attended the meeting. Representatives from relevant associations and enterprises also participated.

Minister Zhou learned in detail about the enterprises’ production and operations, as well as their experiences with regulatory inspections. He noted that the Embassy and Consulates General attach great importance to promoting lawful and compliant operations among overseas Chinese businesses and are committed to safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests. He expressed hope that the enterprises would fully understand changes and new developments, adopt effective measures, enhance their lawful and compliant operations, and reduce operational and security risks, to achieve better development.Consul General Li expressed the readiness to continue to support relevant associations and enterprises in improving industry mechanisms and enhancing lawful and compliant business practices.
